I studied engineering physics at UBC, graduating in May 2026. The program splits fairly evenly between theoretical coursework and year-long project courses, and that mix is where most of my practical experience comes from. Control systems, prototyping, sensors, experimental design, and machine learning, learned as much in the lab as in the classroom. A couple of courses stood out in particular: my capstone projects, the most recent being a reinforcement learning project on RC cars, and a course on AI in finance where I built a two-step transfer learning framework based on a DSGE model.

In 2024 I went on exchange to ETH Zurich, taking advanced master’s-level courses in planning and decision-making for autonomous robots, aerodynamics, photonics, aeroelasticity, and managerial economics.

My interests are fairly broad: robotics, software, mechanical design, optics, energy systems, and data-driven decision-making, generally anything that involves hardware, software, and theory working together. I like projects that sit at that intersection — prototyping a mechanism, optimizing an optical system, or writing the control logic that connects them.
